Dr. Jena DeCanter, DNP, APRN, FNP-C

Dr. Jena DeCanter, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, has served the Tyler community as a nurse since 2009, with a longstanding commitment to holistic, preventive, and patient-centered care. She began her career at East Texas Medical Center (ETMC) in the peri-anesthesia care unit, where she developed a strong foundation in acute care, surgical services, and patient recovery.

In 2015, Dr. DeCanter transitioned into primary care and later internal medicine, providing comprehensive healthcare to individuals and families. She subsequently expanded her clinical expertise into urology, caring for patients with conditions including bladder and prostate cancer, kidney stones, recurrent urinary tract infections, and pelvic floor and bladder disorders.

Today, as a board-certified family nurse practitioner and founder of East Lake Medical, Dr. DeCanter provides modern, accessible healthcare grounded in compassion and individualized attention. Her clinical interests include family medicine, chronic disease management, preventive care, medical weight management, and aesthetic services.

“The best part of providing healthcare is meeting people where they are,” Dr. DeCanter explains. She is dedicated to listening carefully, understanding each patient’s unique needs, and supporting individuals through every stage of their health journey. Her goal is to empower patients with the knowledge, resources, and personalized care they need to achieve better health and an improved quality of life.

Dr. DeCanter’s completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP), the highest level of clinical education in nursing practice. A DNP prepares advanced practice nurses to translate the best available evidence into patient care, improve healthcare quality and safety, and lead meaningful changes in clinical practice.

Megan Madore, MSN, APRN, FNP-C

Megan is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science Studies from Boise State University. She completed her Masters of Nursing at UT Arlington in 2018. She has worked in family practice, infectious disease, and emergency medicine as a nurse practitioner. As a registered nurse, Megan has experience in the ICU and acute care setting. She is passionate about utilizing a preventive, holistic approach with her patients.

Jeri Brown, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC

Jeri is originally from Paris, Texas. The oldest of five children and the daughter of a hardware store owner. She started working at the store at the age of 13 doing anything from pricing and writing tickets for barbed wire and baling wire to weighing nails and horse shoes. She learned most of what she needed to know about life from her Daddy and that store over the next 10 years. She graduated from Paris Junior College in 1989 and worked as a RN at a local hospital until completing a BSN in 1993 and a MSN in 1996 from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has been a licensed and board certified Family Nurse Practitioner since 1996. The majority of her almost 30 years in practice has been in primary care. She received a Patient's Choice Award in 2024 which required achieving above the 99th percentile in all areas. However, her greatest achievement is her family - being a wife and mother and GiGi to Logan, Roman, and Landon.
